Alice May – Artist, Author, Speaker

Alice May worked for the NHS for twenty years, right up until the day she came home from work to find that her house was literally falling down before her eyes. Alice, her husband, and four children moved into a tent in the garden. They had no idea where to start to rebuild their home, but amazing things can come from disaster.

As a direct result of what happened that day, Alice has totally transformed her life. Having written her first award-winning novel ‘Accidental Damage – tales from the house that sat down’, inspired by the months that followed the collapse of her home, Alice now runs a successful business as an author, an artist and a public speaker and she feels passionate about self-care and the use of creative activities to promote resilience and positive mental health.

Surviving the House that Sat Down – overcoming obstacles.
Overcoming the obstacles that life throws at us can be challenging at times, yet, what might seem an impossible hurdle does not have to be the end of the world. Using her own personal artwork as illustration, Alice’s signature talk gives a flavour of her inspiring journey from the ruins of her home after it collapsed one day, to her life now as a published author, artist and public speaker.

Chasing Rainbows – a personal journey of healing through art.
The world is an increasingly stressful place and it is so important that we find ways to deal with the pressures of everyday life. In this presentation, Alice May discusses the power of art to heal, whilst sharing a selection of her own original art and video painting demonstrations.

Self-leadership, self-care, and a healthy work-life balance.
Self-leadership is an essential tool for keeping your business on the path to success, whether you are a sole trader or managing a whole team of people, but it is also important to consider self-care.
