The Message

Everywhere we look there is a message. Written, implied, made clear, ironic, wrong etc.

We cannot move for the number of messages in our life. They talk about the nanny state, and if you think back a couple of hundred years, the number of messages in our lives were reduced to just those around our immediate environment. Things like ‘No Poaching’, ‘Hanging today’.

However, we live in an age where we are bombarded by messages, and we have our own messages to get out there. How do we do that? How do we get our voice’s above everyone else? For some, it is about shouting louder than anyone else or bigging up their success, their experience, and just plain shouting for the sake of it. This does not make for a good business message that you want people to hear.

There are also the messages we give ourselves. Think about how many messages you don’t agree with when you get them externally yet, you absolutely believe the internal messages you get. When you are telling yourself that you are not as good as the next person if only I had more of this or that. It won’t happen for me.

Why do you believe those messages so quickly? They are your messages, so you can change them. When it comes to business, it is amazing how so many people don’t believe in facts. People who have been published don’t call themselves authors. People who speak to groups of people don’t think they can speak in public. Award-winning coaches who don’t tell people they have won awards. What sort of message are you reinforcing in yourself when you don’t recognise your own achievements. You are still telling yourself you are not good enough, or you should not boast. Well, I am here to tell you, BOAST away. It is all fact.

The message

Our business message is vital and it needs to be clear and concise. It needs to reach the people you want to talk to, to tell them what they want to hear. It needs to reach the hearts of people and allow them the opportunity to work with you. Is your business message fit for purpose or are you still worrying about how you tell people what you do?
