Is speaking a part of your marketing?

Public speaking seems to throw the most confident of us into a tailspin.   The very thought of speaking in front of a group makes us want to throw up and we avoid it as much as possible.

So, let me ask you a question?  Do you have a marketing plan?  Does it include a social media schedule, networking, advertising etc.  So why isn’t public speaking a part of that plan.

If you go networking you will need to do a 60-second elevator pitch and eventually they will ask you to do a presentation.  This is an ideal way to market your business, because you get to give your unique message and you have a captured audience too.  

Knowing what you do and how to deliver it is a skill you can learn, even if you don’t think you can.   Once you know what it is you want to say, knowing who you want to say it to is the next step.  

Once you have those steps in place you will find that the brain breathes a sigh of relief because now you have a plan.  Now you know what you want to say and who you want to say it too.    All that’s left now is, what do you want the people to do.  What result do you want?

I know it is scary to speak in public.  It is something people have in their top 3 of stressful situations.   You just need to get over it and understand that what you have to say is important to the people that need to hear it.
